Hindu traditions Vs Science

Hinduism is a rich culture with traditions that most Hindus follow. Traditions in Hinduism were considered mainly as delusions, but with the emergence of science, it is becoming noticeable that these traditions are based on some scientific knowledge and moved from generations to generations as traditions. Though the common people did not know science in it, they were following it very faithfully over the years. Do you know why we follow these folklores? If your answer is No! then you will be shocked after reading the science behind these rituals.

1.   NAMASKAR:

There is a scientific reason behind the ‘Namaskar’ in Hindu culture. Joining both hands guarantee touching the tips of all the fingers together, which are associated with pressure points in the mind, eyes and ears. Pressing them together is said to operate these, helping us look back on that person for a long time.

2.  HEENA:

Mehndi is a mighty medicinal herb, and its application on hands and feet can hinder stress during weddings. It cools the body and keeps the nerves from becoming rigid.

 3.   SINDOOR:

Sindoor is prepared by mixing metal mercury, lime and turmeric. Due to its inborn properties, mercury controls blood pressure and activates carnal drive. Thus, sindoor should be smeared right up to the pituitary gland where all our feelings are cantered.

4.   CHARAN SPARSH:

When we touch the feet of the elderly, their hearts pour out positive thoughts and energy, which they impart through their hands and toes. In essence, the completed circuit enables flow of energy and increases cosmic energy, switching on a quick connect between two minds and hearts. Our fingers and palms become the ‘receptor’ of energy and the feet of the other person become the ‘giver’ of energy.

5.   THROWING COIN IN RIVER:

Years ago, most of the currencies were made up of copper which is a vital vitamin for the human body. Throwing coins in water leads to sufficient intake of copper as rivers were the only source of drinking water at that time.

6.   BELLS IN TEMPLES:

People ring the temple bell when they set foot in as the sound of it is said to clear our mind and help us stay sharp, keeping our full concentration on devotion. Moreover, these bells are constructed in such a way that the sound they produce creates unity in the left and right parts of our brains. The time span of the bell echo is perfect to activate all the 7 healing centres in our body, free us of negativity.

These are just a few Hindu rituals and traditions and their scientific reasons, but almost all traditions are scientifically proven. We were following them without knowing the real reason behind it. But it is important to know the real reasons behind our tradition.

Hope it helps!!
